using a simple plain, cube & light with Beauty pass on & Network Render, hard crash.

No errors appear on the Network Machine.

I could not recreate this issue on my mac, we don't have another PC to test on.
Thanks for scene! But It's very simple one which could not cause any problems by itself.
I'm rendering much much more complicated scenarios on my pc everydays without issues.
As I said there's a problem between 4.00 and your setup(machine's). But I cannot know because I'm not a coder of the renderer. It's beyond of my area. Just I can say that 3.08.x and 4.00 is same for me. Because plugin codes are %99.99 same in both. Just renderer part is different.

See my update, it DOES NOT occur if Slave computers are grabbed before rendering starts, only happens mid-stream.
Scratch that, tried a more intensive file, hard crash.

I've had problems with Octane crashing while saving out a frame in 3500x3500px (hasn't really happen to me when I was rendering 1080p).
Seems like the Render Layer Mask or the Denoiser was causing it, since it stopped once I turned the Layer Mask off and set only one out of four
cards to be used for denoising.

Scene only takes up around 850mb of VRAM, so I can hardly believe that I'm running out of ram here.

I'm on a workstation with 4 x 1080 8gb, 2 x Intel Xeon 4110 and 32gb ram. OS is Windows 10 Pro, build 17134.376

Since I'm working for a client, I can't really share the scene, unfortunately.

Thanks for your help, everyone!
what kind of crashes do you talk?
Please do some report to me as in RED TEXT in first page.

sdanaher wrote:Ahmet, I'm seeing some unsettling behaviour with V4 and R20 - crashes that destabilise the machine (iMac 5k, + Titan X eGPU, OSX 10.12.6). It'll take the system down but in a weird way, not a flat out KP. Eg high-res still renders will reach the max samples but wont complete. It keeps rendering and never stops. If you stop the render manually Cinema hangs. A normal force quit seems to work BUT after you do apps will fail to launch: everything just bounces in the dock and you have to reboot. One time after force quitting Cinema's icon remained in the dock. its wasn't listed in top so I couldn't even find the PID to kill it. Again reboot required. It's very disturbing...

Also seeing a lot of general crashes/spinning beachball when doing routine iterative work with the LV active (crashes only happens when LV is running) and it requires a force quit (but those don't take down the system at least). Again this is all with R20.

I do not get this behaviour with R19 and V3.08. With the same scenes it renders fine.
What's crashes? C4D crash with warning window or Render Failure with red texts?

Its crashes, not errors (no red text)

Where's bugreports?

No bugreports. I have to either force quit or it does as I described above and takes the system down.

What happen without eGPU?

Its an iMac so I cant use octane without an eGPU.

Give more info for what you render? Scene's itself or resolution, settings, etc...?

Beppe's contacted me for info which I'll try to provide when I have a moment.

I'm experiencing crashes when it comes to saving the frame (at least that's what I think).
Octane renders all samples and just closes Cinema completely once it's done.

I made a video, so you can see how it looks like - how can I send it over to you?

Thanks for your help!

Does the Denoiser not work for PMC? The pass shows in the live-viewer but is pitch black.

Hi Aoktar, I have to report a critical lowering of performance during work. The preview is extremely slow, it is as if it were jerky, even if the priority is set to Low. The scene that with the 3.8 version was very fast, with this version tends to slow down to the point of being unmanageable. The strange thing is that the GPU does not heat up at all, while the CPU seems to have excesses of overheating. Regarding rendering is certainly faster, about 2.5 times with my rtx 2080, I noticed that the first frame that is rendered takes a lot of time to be processed, the subsequent frames are very fast. (In the current scene, about 4min for the first frame and 12 seconds for the following frames) Unfortunately the project management is critical on my pc. I was forced to go back to 3.8 so as not to interrupt the work. Occasionally I also got sudden crashes but without having any special warnings in the log. Could it be due to a lack of support for the RTX 2080?
Thank's for your job.
