Bloody good question. So good in fact that it keeps getting asked again and again by many Max users.

Seems adaptive sampling isn't a priority . Which is fine because we don't need to cut our render times by half.

So it seems.

About time we get the 3.0.6 too OR why we as 3dsMax user should wait until 3.1? No release is bug free and I need to use my 3dmax tools unavailable on the standalone.. is the reason why I decided NOt to migrate elsewhere and frankly the AS is there..no fuss..no experiment about ..just there since 1.0..

Come on

Hi everyone, thanks for feedback.

There is a 3.06 Max internal test build we are QA'ing. Let me discuss with the team and see if we can get a drop out based on this version asap.

How stable is that going to be?
For the sake of this amount of waiting it should be rock solid isn't it? Maybe it's V4 way ahead of standalone.

Seriously, How hard it really is adapting new build in to Max. Could someone shed a light on that?
How come C4D or Maya can have quick releases. What is so unique about max developing progress, please do tell...

I'm not urging you about releasing early test builds. But what is the story there about max falling behind all the time..

I mean seriously, Why?
sigh...

Sorry if it's been reported already, but this version breaks PNG sequences as textures. (probably other file-types too, didn't check) It works in 4.23, and not in 4.30.

hI DartFrog,
I did not find your issue, Perhaps I did not understand what you mean;
When you select your sequence, do you check "sequence" option in File select bitmap panel?

Paride

Thank you!

After some not-always-so-positive feedback on this thread I would like just to thank you for your work.

I've installed 3.06 test version and working with it with no issues so far.
And I understand that some issues will probably show up - but for me it's OK - since it's test version.

So - once again Thank You OTOY for bringing us AS into 3ds Max!!

In 3.06 specific thread I'll post some constructive feedback after spending more time with 3.06.
