Paul ..
The new Octane for Rhino 6 worked the first time and then subsequently threw an exception and would not allow Rhino 6 to open. I had to uninstall Rhino 6 and reinstall it. Now Rhino 6 works but can't install Octane.
Any thoughts?
eric

Sorry Paul,
After uninstalling Rhino 6 and reloading it the exception message and the full crash of Rhino is no longer happening. Rhino 6 now cannot load Octane but Rhino 6 is working. Here is the message I get now.
cheers,
eric

Without knowing what the original exception is, it is very hard for me to help resolve your issue. If you ever have a problem like this, be sure to grab screenshots of all the errors so I can piece together what happened. I'm not sure how to get you up and running now. My only suggestion is to completely uninstall Rhino 6 and the Octane plugin and delete all residual files and start again.

Hi Paul ...
I did that using the best of my knowledge. I think for now that I will wait for the next Octane for R6 build and then try again. In the meantime I think saving as R5 will work.
cheers,
eric

Hi Paul
More information. I loaded Octane for R6 again and it worked fine the first time. The next time I opened R6 it would not run and I got the 'exception' message again ... attached.

Another problem. Now Octane for R5 will only open a viewport with a resolution of 1439x516. No matter how I change the settings is is locked at that resolution. While it is rendering everything locks .. Rhino and Octane. I have to close the viewport to make any changes.

When I try to change resolution in the Octane window with the viewport itself turned off and the resolution unlocked I get the following message:
"Resolution is not locked. Lock the resolution or change the Viewport size to change the file resolution."
Changes I make to the settings do not change the viewport resolution. Baffled.

thanks,
eric

Hi Paul

More info.

If I install but do not run Octane r6 then Rhino will open the next time with no problem. But, if I use Octane the Rhino will not open the next time. But if I reinstall Octane R6 ... without uninstalling ... then it will work for one time. And will successfully save the render.

Hi Paul
It is 6.0.17157.8191 6/6/17

And here is what is happening with Rhino 5 ... This is the Viewport that comes up. I did manage to change the resolution but when it is running nothing else will respond at all ... I just get a little double beep when I click the mouse button.

The Viewport toolbar does not look right to me but the viewport says it is Octane

Thanks - I will take a look. Pls keep in mind that the Rhino 6 version of the plugin is currently unsupported, so just for testing, so for any production work use the Rhino 5 version of the plugin.
