hi everyone,
i just want to share a complete hair-testscene because i am not sure how to build up a proper hairshader.
thanks a lot in advance for tips/enhancements
btw. the new hairsupport is awesome! :)

Hi Ahmet, I have been thinking of ways to help use scatter to get some sort of control adding hair from my 'fibermesh patches' I made in zbrush (I know I could never get close to the effort above but being able to paint stubble and short hair without the hair module would be great for us lowly broadcast users)..also I am not sure this is even possible but could you place multiple vertex maps to control (via re-routing the 0-100 scale) rotational parameters etc of areas specified by a secondary vertex map? It would have all sorts of uses like painting in the localised rotation of trees, grass etc..would be extra cool if these maps could then be animated/morphed... so some of the grass or whatever could tilt in the wind.
I am no c4d pro and happily admit to being not very knowledgable so sorry if this seems like nonsense but you did ask a few posts back.
Again you are doing a great job...btw I didn't even know what a vertex map did till the other day but have been loving painting grass around my creations. :D

Craig.

Hi Ahmet;

When can we expect a stable release of the 2.24.2?

Thanks.

You'll say. And i don't expect any stable release before 3.0 finished on current system. I wish to improve new features without being worry about stability. If someone is sensitive about stability should go with previous stable.

Is there a way to control the scaling that happens at the edges when using vertex maps to control distribution?

One thing that could be cool was if you could control count at the edge of vertex maps.

I think I missed to fix it. Do you suppose to have a Falloff parameter as in image? Or please explain it with some images.

Yes, that's the problem. Can't control the falloff. But I realize we are still in early days :)

Ever since posting this bug report above, I'm getting repeated crashes when I try to use displacement and SSS and render to live viewer. I get a "TDR Detected" error message. I tried rolling back plugin to previous stable but the problem is still happening.

Hi,
use one of the latest standalone installer and then restart your machine, it should change the TDR to 10s, if this is not enough, please look at here:
