Nice score FooZe, (guess the Octane test machine better have a nice score:)
I was looking for your rig specs. can you post them? I purchased 4 GTX cards recently and have been trying to decide what new mobo to go for. I am only running 2 right now.
Also Why are your GPUs registering as 8 GPUs when I have 2 580 GTX that are only registering as 2 and not 4?

Hi buzby!
Fooze uses a gtx 690. a gtx 690 is a dual gpu card. so it will show 2 gpu´s per card. you have a gtx 580 - 580= single gpu card!
Made a test yesterday:
GTX 570 OC and gtx 670 OC : 7.23
Had a bright smile on my face!
Bud daaaaammnnn it - the 570 sucks current compared to the 670 - thats sick!
Kind regards Chris!

GPU 1: GTX 660 MSI PE OC : 2.64
GPU 2: GTX 670 Gigabyte Windforce : 3.35
5.99
Kind regards Chris!

Thanks, and face palm, I missed that in my research. Since we are going for high scores in the Benchmark I was wondering what motherboard, memory etc. the Octane test rig uses. It would be helpful for everyone who is asking what the best config. is since I imagine the Octane test rig is optimized for use with Octane.

Yes scoring in the 7's is certainly respectable and practical for rendering. I was pulling .50 with my quadro Fx 4800 before the 580. I now have (3) 580's and (1) 670 but the 670 is slower than the 580, I'll post later. I would love to put all 4 in 1 rig so that's why I want to know what mobo. the test rig is using. I am jealous of the test rigs benchmark score of 27.7 but I don't think I am laying out 4-5K to get it

Hi Chris!
What about the heat in the Thunderstorm? 4 690 so near together? Can they breathe? What kind of 690 do you use with which kind of cooler? Windforce? Twinforce?
Thanks - Kind regards Chris!

Hi Chris, and great thanks. I think you guys really are the benchmark that we should be going against in this render test as well as purchasing equipment as you are at ground zero. One question, is the liquid cooling DRX-B for the CPU overclocking just for the sake of having a speedier processor? I have read the CPU does not have any relevance for Octane Render.
I read about the G1.Sniper but opted for the ASUS P8B WS LGA 1155 Intel C206 ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server/Workstation Motherboard as it got much better stability reviews, glad to see yours is working well. Hope to be posting with my 3 GTX 580 and 1 GTX 670 soon.
Cheers!

Octane V1.0 Final
Octane_22_benchmark
Pathtracing / AlphaShadows disabled
EVGA GTX 670 FTW 4GB
PrecisionX (Power Target 130%, GPU Clock Offset +70MHz, Mem Clock Offset +459MHz)
3.28 ms/sec
EVGA GTX 650ti Superclocked 2GB
PrecisionX (GPU Clock Offset +80MHz, Mem Clock Offset +130Mhz)
1.46 ms/sec
Combined for 4.74 ms/sec
~note, Octane V3.03 was a bit slower with 4.67 ms/sec
Are these scores any good???

The higher the score the better. You can check to see what everyone has here
