When it renders Octane tells me there are 2501 meshes and 30002 triangles. There aren't any displacements in the scene. I have gotten other scenes of a similar item count (again, just cubes and planes) to crash.
I had a look at your scene, and it locks up Modo on Windows. You can test this for yourself by loading the scene and typing 'sdk.rcache.listen' (which starts the Modo API RenderCache listener) - and doing so locks Modo. So there is something corrupted or invalid in your scene. Perhaps the scene was created in Modo701 or 801, so when loaded into Modo901 there is a scene corruption?

Are you OK for me to forward this scene to TheFoundry so that I can file a bug report with them for this?

Feel free to send the scene to The Foundry.

The scene was created in 901 SP3 and has not been opened in any earlier version of Modo. I was starting to animate channels using the python TD SDK. None of those actions in and of themselves should be able to corrupt a scene (that I am aware of). Thank you for the 'sdk.rcache.listen' tip. I was not aware of that little gem!
