Hi NZ !
I made a test I got :
---
I use your file is ok, but when I render with "save all render passes as a single multi layer EXR file" I get :

- ONEfile.JPG (17.56 KiB) Viewed 480 times
---
and when I use new cryptomatte node in Resolve 20 I get : ( no surface, just edges )
The attachment resolve.JPG is no longer available
---
It is better to use Octane EXR or MAX one ?

If I try to add any modifier to an STL file with the Octane renderer selected, it can freeze, and after thinking for a long time, this panel popped up for me
Here is the file in the archive, the ring model is not mine, I was only given the opportunity to render it. Maybe there is something wrong with the STL

Hello NeonZorglub,
Not a big issue but I still have the empty tab problem on max 2024 (latest updates), 572.83 Studio Drivers.
3ds Max is freshly installed, it happens every time on new scenes

Are there changes in texture environment 2D transform angles with this version?
I had several old scenes with latest version before 2024.1.2 with a complete different sun angle now.
Usually I use a Texture-Environment with a RGB Image (HDR). I use the UV transform slot and apply an 2D Transformation with a value for example 0,25 and 0,0.
With current version, the 0,25 is now exactly 180° wrong. So to get my old 0,25 I need to enter 0,75.
This happens to all of my scenes. And I use a lot of recent scenes from many years.

Hi Elvissuperstar007,
I can't reproduce your issue using your scene. From the screenshot, it looks like you're using the retopology modifier. I tried using that as well, but aside from a few freezes that I can resolve with the unfreeze button, I haven't experienced any permanent freezes. This modifier takes some time to update the changes, but I haven't encountered any pop-up windows like you mentioned. Do you have other applications using the GPU and VRAM (like Chrome, for example)?
Regards
Paride

Hi HHbomb,
Did you set the 'Rendering Toon Map' option to LDR in the Render Settings panel?

Hi HHbomb,
You should use LDR with cryptomatte layers
