You don't need a new GPU,but you'll need the CUDA 3.0 toolkit and 197.15(or 197.13) driver for beta 2

2nd, it will be the default for beta2, including the mac build (which is working ! yay)

Just HDRs, or all image textures, or everything in general takes up less memory? Either way that is very good news for us all.
So does that mean we are all installing new drivers for beta2?

So...(???)
Do we need to upgrade right now the driver, or just after buy a Fermi, or after new Octane that takes advantage of that, or???
(AND, OR, XOR, NAND)???

beta2 is out tomorrow, you should update your graphics driver to something that support CUDA 3.0 and you'll need to install the CUDA 3.0 toolkit. I'm set - i have both installed already.

the cuda toolkit is only necessary on linux and mac os X.
windows users don't have to install it.
