I attached the video by the time net updating is done master is done rendering. And that's every frame
So master will render and slaves are idle
Overall scene eval is super slow with tyflow even though all physx objects are instances
Hi coilbook,
Currently, Octane support tyFlow fracture effects only as mesh (I suppose you have a tyMesher for that).
So this mesh need to be updated every frame. If it's big, that will take time to send to the network renderer..
Some of the tyFlow effects change the final geometry a lot, and using particles would not help much.
For fracture effects, each piece of 'broken' geometry (sub divided mesh) could be stable enough (not changing), and we could use the particle mode..
I will investigate to see if that could be added.
Thanks
There is another strange bug with tyflow. The more you render the slower eval times become, PC gets very sluggish. Not sure if octane doesn't clear out previous tyflow particles and every frame adds more and more to vram.

It seems my pre 2023.1 materials are set to the current version by default. This causes my errors.
Another issue I experience is a color shift in my colorcorrection node. The HUE shifts from 0.9 to another value making my material blue.
It happens after I apply it from my material library to the Material Editor.

Hi ! Thanks for this beta.
I have questions regarding analytic lights.
- we need a emitter texture to control light power ?
- do analytic lights will have all settings as regular lights ( visibility, ...) as C4d version do have ?
Thanks

Hi !
I tried new fog post volume effects.
When a complex object with thin parts ( tree,..) is detached against the sky ( alpha ) there is problems in anti aliasing or something.
When there is an object behind it is ok.

Hi !
When using Output AOV it is very annoying to have layers listed not in the same order.

Hi !
Is gradient texture broken ? Can't manage to add new values positions.
Thanks

Hi HHbomb,
Yes, sorry about that ! I just fixed several issues with gradient textures (and Toon ramp, Volume ramp, Apply gradient layer).
Currently, you may need to switch to editing another texture, and back to the gradient texture..
Thanks for reporting this, and the other issues.

Hi !
I captured a Custom AOV ( a texture ).
Then I have deleted the nodes in Slates.
But the Custom AOV still remain in the list ( AOV 1 )
I can't uncheck it in the popup list.
How can I remove this ?
Only solution was to delete it in the graph ( AOV scene setting > Edit AOV graph ) but it came back....
Thanks

Hi !
In c4d when using AOVs you can choose rendering options. Actually in MAX it is " Primary rays only"
Is there in MAX such options ? I can't see nor in Octane Objects properties nor in Output AOV graph.
This is very usefull.
Thanks

Hi,
what about to improve the displacement to not break the mesh geometries? Like the next example:
I hope Otoy put more attention to improve actual features...
