I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

2021.1.0.129
- Compiled with Octane 2021.1 RC2
- Fixed issue where saving to Multi-Layer files was not saving layers other than the Beauty layer.
- Fixed exception when using the Rhino->Render command with Octane render and an active clipping plane

Thanks

Paul

I think this might be because you have a missing texturemap in a Rendertarget node (the Texture pin of the Environment for example). I suggest deleting your config.xml file and see if that resolves the issue.

Thanks

I have updated the installers at the top of this thread with:

2021.1.2.131
- Compiled with Octane 2021.1.2
- Fixed issue where non-Octane materials were rendering with a gamma of 1 instead of 2.2 (issue introduced in 2021.1.0.127)

Thanks

Paul

hi Paul,

does Rhino plugin support custom OCIO profiles? If yes, where to set it up?

Thanks

The plugin doesn't support OCIO at the moment, and you would need to export the scene to ORBX and use the OCIO preferences in Octane Standalone. However, implementing it in the plugin would be possible - I am just unsure how many users it would be useful to.

Thanks

Paul,

yes, I see your point.
I think it would be useful to have. This topic started to get attention in recent months in the render community. You can see people asking on the forums more and more about implementing ACES (or else) in they render pipeline.

Glass refraction doesn`t work correctly

we have a problem with glass material (specular metarial). Although the geometry is only 1cm thick, it is rendered, as if the pane was perhaps a meter thick. Even if I set the refraction to 1.0, a strong refraction is calculated.

Installed is Rhino 7 SR 16
Octane Studio driver 2012.1.3.131
Graficcard RTX 2080 Ti
Driver Nvidia 512.15 studio driver

I would be very grateful for a quick help!

Hi. Perhaps double check that your scene units are correct (should be in metres). Also check that your kernel->ray epsilon is correct.

Thanks
