Im sorry I havent made it clear have I. Please ignore that plane in my file as its only there to indicate that if i was to do this with just C4D native the same texture would be applied to both the ground plane and the background object along with the comp tag. I would then set the comp tag to composite background and it would combine the two. This would allow me to have an object placed on the plane and cast shadows and refections onto the ground plane but look like its part of the overall image.
Let me start again as you guys really know your stuff so I hoping I get to the bottom of this.
That scene I supplied is just an example and not what I intend to use. What I ideally want is the ability to have say a cube (or another object) siting on the ground to look like its part of the background image. I want to be able to have the cube (or another object) cast a shadow and possibly a reflection onto the floor and in turn have the floor (and background image) reflect back into the cube. Just to be clear I dont want to render the plane but just use it (if I need to in octane) to help with shadows and reflections.
Do either of you think this is possible?
