But I hope you are not alone in the C4D team at Otoy and someone can help you? What happens if you don't get well back from holiday? Don't hope so :-/

What current projects, there is no need to jump ship from R22 at the moment. Give the guy a minute.moebius wrote:hi aoktar
I think, most user don't care about neutron. We just need a octane version for S23 to work on current projects.
you are right. Aoktar can (probably) not know when maxon releases something new. enjoy your holiday!natemac00 wrote:Give the guy a minute.
I don't know if this comment was directed at my initial post or not, but I think it's fair as a paying customer to ask about a timeline for Octane for a new release. Certainly it is being considered on your side and the post wasn't demanding or complaining. I was recognizing that there were big changes to implement. As other users mentioned, we want to use R23 in production, but most of us cannot because Octane is our renderer of choice. So, saying you need time for certain features as you did is great and honest: that works for me. Most of us know and appreciate how hard you work...that's another reason we're excited!aoktar wrote:For my curiosity, why you guys are so impatient to get builds as soon as a new release is available?moebius wrote:hi aoktar

Sometimes it's not so simple to adopt the plugins for new c4d releases. I cannot estimate without prepare a build environment over new sdks. Thought I'm on leave for a while, it has to wait until return for one week or more
WOW. So everyone that bought octane 4 should just throw it in the trash? what a waist of $700.bepeg4d wrote:Latest C4D version supported by v4 is R21.Ginz wrote:Also, are Octane 4 owners going to have a R23 compatible version?
Now we are at v8(2020.1), S22 and R23 cannot have a v4, v5, ecc. versions.
The first version supporting R23 will be 2020.1 only.
ciao Beppe
Why do you think so? It's technically hard to keep it working with new c4d and driver versions. At least v4 core will not work with latest drivers. Also adopting old codes for every change in C4d that's practically impossible and killing the development efforts for new features.Ginz wrote: WOW. I guess this is a good reason to completely switch to redshift
Because we see that Maxon is huge and developing team, while OTOY can only dedicate you to our plugin development instead of dedicating couple more guys to keep up with both old and new versions support\development.aoktar wrote:Why do you think so? Why do you update c4d and do not think same for it?
