OK, I see now the sun position is slightly different between the first frame and the rest of the frames. I will fix this in the next release. In the meantime you would need to use a Texture Environment. Sorry this hasn't been picked up previously - I doubt anyone uses the Daylight Environment. If you are really stuck, exporting the scene to ORBX and rendering in Octane Standalone seems to resolve the issue (although the export process is not quick).

Some more info on this issue...it is possible the problem was caused by

Code: Select all

- Implemented Octane Quad Lights, Spherical Lights and Volumetric Spotlights (via the Octane Light property on the Modo Area, Point and Spot Lights). Volumetric Spotlight "Light Medium", "Emitter Material", and "Barn Doors Material" can be set by dragging the Spotlight item onto the schematric and adding those channels to the Spotlight node.
in release 2020.1.2.162. So release 2020.1.0.161 /may/ resolve the issue.

Nope sorry, still had the same results. Thanks for looking though.

I have resolved this in the next release. I can send you a test version. Are you on Octane Enterprise or Studio please?

I am on enterprise. But I ended up having to just use texture environment because I needed to start rendering. My main concern was the background I really liked from the daylight system. So I set it up to use the daylight for the background and texture environment for the lighting. Like I said, thanks for figuring it out though. If for some odd reason I do HAVE to go back to that, would you mind just emailing it to me? My email is the same one I sent the test scene to you with.

Thanks again, and I apologize for some of the posting. It can just get mighty stressful when deadlines approach and then couple that with the program not working correctly.

Take care.

This is happening to me too. I'm using version 2020.1.0.161
I have an animation set up with daylight system and when I render the animation, frame 1 and 2 doesn't connect as if the sun flies off to a wrong position.
It renders correctly when I render individual frames, but I would prefer to not manually render every frame when I can press "Animate".
Will this be fixed on the next release?

I suggest updating to the latest version of the plugin at viewtopic.php?f=34&t=73539.
