I was just about to write about this. Yes, the way you've got it set up takes an ENORMOUS amount of RAM, if all you need is the render region you've selected. My machine also has 64 gigs, and it was maxing out and starting to go to cache, slowing things down like crazy, along the way, as well as throwing that weird color space glitch.

If you only need the rendered region, you can set it up with a longer lens to only render the roughly 3240x10800 area directly, and save gobs of memory and a lot of time. This way only uses about 13 gigs.

Yes! Thank you for that. We tested and were actually able to render a larger final image with that approach. Not sure why render region doesn't work.
