I face! Congrat for your work!
This plug is very fast!
Finally the area light is now enable, but I have a little problem.
To me it is a strange thing happened. Once I have exported the file with a new plug on Octane, I can no longer export to other files in Octane, after making changes to XSI.
I mistaken something?
Besides, the uv generated with unfold don't see in Octane. :(

What do you mean with export to other files? You can´t change the project name?

Maybe you have two uv-sets on the mesh? Because the obj can only have one uv-set, i take the first.

After the first export, I close Octane to return on XSi for other edit on various mesh, for example.
When I export to view the result on Octane, the plug don't export nothing.
In reality nothing happens..

The Unfold is the only uv set!

It should, because i write in a tmp-file.
If the export is done, without a chancel, I delete the original obj-file and rename the tmp-file to the original one.
Maybe you can export a bigger mesh, like 150.000 tris and have a look in the project folder. There should be a projectname_tmp.obj.

Hm, curious, i havn´t changed anything in the uv export. I have test it with modo and the uv is exported and shows like the one in xsi.

Which Softimage you use?
I have compiled the plugin with 2010sp1, maybe that´s the problem...

I´m working on Strands, so that they are ready in the next release.
The scaling problem should then be fixed and they should look the same as in SI.
I have found, that the strandlength have influence.
The length is multiplicated with the size, so that different lengths of the strands give different sizes...

Have also found, that there is an issue with pointclouds if they haven´t a point position or an instance shape.
The export then was canceled. This is also solved...

Great! This is the best version i have used so far. Can't really prove it but it seems faster and it's the most stable one. Not that the previous ones were particularly glitchy. I couldn't find any bugs so far. Thanks.

Quick strand comparison between Softimage and Octane...
They should be match ;)

I think the Softimage normals aren´t correct...

Next try.
Only cubes with a lattice deform.
Around 1.6mio triangles...
