Frank - i used denoising WITH Adaptive sampling ON at animations so no problem they are perfectly compatible so don't worry.

Frank, if you are animating using static noise with denoiser works well. I found out the hard way, not in the manual.
I tested out an aircraft interior and with static noise off it was popping like crazy.

Oh!.. Thanks a bunch gristle! That is really good to know!
And thank you Lewis! You guys rock!
I'll be honest; GI Clamp, Path Term Power and Coherent Ratio are still a little mysterious to me.. I usually just keep those on the same settings and always get clean results, though likely much slower than possible, I am sure. I guess I will need to play with those once I do some quick animation tests with Denoising, since no one can tell me exactly what to use, without seeing my exact scenes, or what my surfacing is like. But you guys definitely saved me some time.
Just occurred to me while looking at PT Kernel just now: Can AI Light be used (and help) if doing strictly HDRI lighting?

Regarding my very original post; the reason Denoiser didn't seem to be working was because I was rendering to time, not max samples. Now I see how nice this looks!
