I totally agree about image planes. They appear even hidden or on different render layers.

Hi Nedan,

Thank you so much. Please try using the Visibilty checkbox from the Object Display rollout in shape node to chose whether to render the BG or not.

Hi,

When I change in main settings MB samples per frame, sometimes my object changes size or desappeas .
edit: in conjunction with Motion Blur shutter time. Maybe I dont know how to setup the right way. Looks to me that dont work always the same way.

Hi Vfxm,

Thank you so much for testing the new plugin.

The Sunsky is currently translating as locator node due to backward file compatibility support and technically "SunSky" node now in the new plugin is matching the standalone structure exactly, and this is how it should be in the plugin and cannot be changed in a new plugin (at least before the standalone itself implements the environment nodes as geometry having transforms and placement in space). Octane engine does not "understand" the transformation-rotation of the environment node, because the standalone engine does not have any parent transformation matrix to the environment node: the environment node itself has the rotation attributes directly in it.

Here's a quick video to control the sun direction. We can use Ctrl key + Left/Middle/R-click to adjust the value or just input directly in the XYZ field.

The viewport radius parameter will be hidden in the next release.

cheers
