..ok installed, first thing tested, left octane vieport running, and opened another project, octane window stayed on, pressed pause, and it crashed max..

second try, it closed octane viewport, I think I paused it now.. everything else worked OK so far.. opens up older projects

Hi miknik,
scatter tool nodes helps to transform and edit instance objects.
In the coming days I will prepare tutorials around istance color and istance range node.

Sorry about that. I couldn't reproduce your issue yet..
The only thing that I found is that the Instance Color do not support standard textures for the bitmap pin.. only a texture filename..
(this connection is only visible in the Slate editor mode, not in the Compact mode..)
I'm not sure if that could cause a hang on rendering, but you could try to use a texture file instead..
Could you let me know if it fixes the problem ?
I will add the standard texture input in the next version.
Also, we will soon add some samples for the usage of User Instance IDs, and instance tools..
Thank you

even in older version if you have 4 mil polygons or above evaluation time is quite long compared to version 2.

And using multiple phoenix volume grids even worse. We reported this many many times and still no fix.

Please look bellow how slow evaluation time with multiple phoenix fd grids

5 grids: 3 min 20 seconds to open viewport. Scene size 1.25 Gb of vram

3 grids: 1 min 40 seconds

1 grid: only 20 seconds. File size 0.6 gb. So 5 grids should be evaluated in 1 minute not 3 min 20 sec.

can someone help me.
I have a scene with 4 mil polys. Just a snowy landscape with itoo trees and a flying robot (the only movable proxy) Why do i have to wait 30 seconds each frame before rendering begins. I thought the whole scene is loaded in the card? Scene is only 3 gb of vram
