I'd like to know if this issue has been resolved please... seems like a glaring oversite which has been around a while.
Scatter Object and Motion blur - functioning or not please?
Thanks.
Scatter object is not supporting that pls! Not in todo list for near future.

I just scattered some cubes on a plane and made a camera fly by...it works here when the scattered objects are stationary.
It does not work when the camera is fixed and the scattered objects move.
Can you please forward this to core devs? Along with the MB problems with Displacement on joint deformed objects?
These are really serious issues in production.

It's about plugin development not core. Why it's a big issue? Good to know you're using it but the scatter object is not designed to use as cloner. Not intented to cover the animation requirements.

I have the same results with the SO and I absolutely agree that it should be made a priority in future development...

The scatter object is not designed to be used as a cloner....???
I would say the ONLY reason anyone is using the Scatter Object in the first place is because it makes for a far more powerful cloner than the Mograph one when it comes to high numbers of clones. The idea that it I am not using it correctly is bizarre! Why on earth would you build it to work with the Mograph Effectors if it wasn't designed to function as a Cloner?
I would say making this function properly with Motion Blur is an obvious request and should be made a priority.

Yes and no! I started to write that to help the needs of cloning the grasses/etc. for architectural works. Later I found that's possible to use effectors and added. Main reason why I say that's so, distribution algorithm is not fine for animated distribution objects. And I have higher priorities for new features atm.

I have to agree. The only reason to use the scatter is as a cloner. It this is a main feature for basically every archviz renderning etc., right?
I appreciate your hard work on the plugin but this is important! It breaks a production flow when you suddenly discover parts of your scene do not render with MB. The same goes with the Displacement and Joints combination breaking MB. That makes Octane basically useless in a state of the art character animation production.
Please have a look into those things

I ran into the same issue at a current project. Simple surface with forester grass scatterd on to it but motion blur is not affecting the scattered clones. Gonna fix it in post but it would be super handy if MB for scattered objects will make it to the scatter object anytime soon.

As I understand it, as the developer for the C4D plugin, Ahmet wrote Scatter as a nice little bonus for C4D Octane users. It's not really a core element of Otoy's Octane toolset. It works great for relatively static elements in an environment, like rocks, grass, parked cars, or what-have you, but for fairly tricky reasons that are way over my head, moving Scatter geometry is much harder to track through space than the built-in C4D cloner objects. As such, camera motion blur is pretty easy to implement with Scatter objects, but individual Scatter object and vertex level motion is much trickier. There are other, core Octane elements that have higher development priority.
Personally, I've been using ReelSmart Motion Blur for so long, and I love the ability to tweak blur in post, that I've barely noticed this issue. Sure, it would be nice if Scatter objects had fully independent motion blur when animated with Mograph etc., but for me it's not a big deal. I'm happy to have the great speed and tiny memory footprint of Scatter in my toolbox.
