Hi,
Works here also quite well. Perhaps an update to 3.05.01 ?
Best wishes,
Thomas

Thanks, Thomas. That must be it. I will update later today.
By the way, are you able to use the Alpha Image channel?

Hi,
What do you mean by Alpha channel? The Alpha channel of the Carrara Multichannel shader? With what image (format)?
Best wishes,
Thomas Schwenke

Hi Thomas,
The attached shows the channel, which has not yet worked for me. Perhaps the update you recommend will help. Using this will add another layer of control to animated Materials.

Hi again,
Uh, never used that one. What can you do with it? I normally use opacity maps (with b/w) or just pngs with alpha channels, so I cannot tell you if it's working or not.
Best wishes,
Thomas

My thinking:
It could be used something like the native Carrara layers list.
Or, maybe an Alpha channel animation could be used for a unique surface.
Separately, the Opacity channel could be used for another effect, perhaps to grow or modify the original surface.

Hmm, don't understand fully here what you mean. I wait for a render from you using this, then I'll understand

Yes. If I get it to work, and can do something worth while, I will post.

An Alpha Image is like a grayscale image except that is uses the Alpha Channel of a PNG or TIF. It basically ignores the color channels.
