That's why I was wondering if things could be easier with R18 because I want to use it, and let's face it: substance is one of those programs
a lot of people will be investing their time into.

I have zero idea about workflow. As i remember that substance textures are convertable to images on the fly. What do you expect more? If there is some people who describe and create some examples about workflow so i can check.
This is what i see with empty substance texture.

I think that integration with Substance Painter will not be a big difference to the way it was before.
This is my workflow for dealing with substances.
Works well for me.
