You can purchase just the plugin so that would make one assume you did not need both.

They offer a deal for both the standalone and the plugin but why pay for both if you don't need it.

Plugin doesn't work without the standalone so now I have to pay full price.

(Correction: they only charged for an upgrade @ $75)

Apologies for the ambiguity on the website. For now, the best source for the v3 plugin is the release thread. This will be amended after the first full commercial release is available.

The plugin is still beta... but lets forget this for a moment and focus to the fact, that the system with activating licences is really bad, im locked outside octane for 2 days and i am missing my work for that reason.
There is a strong need to make this process automated when anyone changes computer. Its totally unacceptable to have this type of floating licence without de activation unless physical presence....
