What I'm really trying to find out is if I slap a 980ti or a titan Z into the same case with the K5000 thats in an old mac tower with the specs above, if it will work with octane?
in a Mac sandbox..You could not guarantee anything..it's very sensitive to what operating system You're runing, what drivers You have, etc. but it works flawless with TitanX inside mac & 4x 780s outside on Mac 5.1

K5000 (running) should run, but I'm not sure if drivers would not freak out..- there are situationswhere this might happen & You might notice stability issues..but as mentioned..it's Mac sandbox & there's little to nothing to do about that.

I can try to ask a Guy who owns this solution to test things out with K5000 as that's the card He owns as well.

2x980Ti solution could be aircooled & that would give You the best value..but it might be a bit how as sometimes even under full load OS does not tweak fana speeds under full laod.. so You would be looking int o temps close to 90C under full load.

Price depends a bit on where You live if fully built piece should be shipped, but there are alternative solutions if You don't ming to do some work Yourself as two aircooled GPU build would not require modifications.
If you get the chance to test things out on a K5000 you'd be my hero!

As for doing some work myself I definitely have no problem with that. I've built a few PC's but never done any water cooling stuff. I'd love any advice you could give in components and direction for putting together a simple dual 980ti external.

Hi Tom,

Would this setup work on a new Mac Pro? (2013 Barrel)
