So did anyone order these? The thread is old and the product has been out for a while now but I can't seem to find proper reviews of it yet. Weird?

I need to buy a solution for us at work because I want us to switch to Octane. We require a couple of them, also don't want to have to do any work
on them (so no ghetto DIY solutions). Should just be plug and play pretty much so that only leaves BizonBox.

The problem is that we're in Europe and paying import tax on top of this insanely overpriced product is a bit of a turnoff but I'm running out of options here.

Any thoughts?

Chrmez. When do You need those? I might be able to help biulding, testing & delivering them with GPUs & required mods. OR I can give some guidelines to follow if You wish to mess Yourself

here is latest piece I've done based on Akitio + SFXL PSU & some mods (link1 & link2).

I think BizonBox is successful because it looks.. well, rather a bit more elegant than what you showed (no offence).
It's also something we would require. Can't have cards lying around in the open with cables and stuff going all over the place.

You should start doing that as a business. If you can get a case mold and fix everything so it's neat for half the price of Bizon (I think they're like
$550 without GPU (!))) you could give them some serious competition.

When You have money for fiesta, do not expect Mustang =) (in other words, You get what You pay..). If You want cool looking case, etc it's doable, but it cost accordingly.

First off, proper ventilation in a case is better than just having it out in the open. Second, I work in a design agency, what things look like is important to us
and the way the office looks. We're not looking for the best design ever (BizonBox doesn't look great). But A design is better than none. And like I said, cables
and naked cards on our tables would just not fit us. To each his own, I'm sure your solution is perfect for some (perhaps most).

Not sure I would label that "cool". Not looking to buy a spaceship here. Just a case. And an empty case for one GPU shouldn't cost $550 no matter what.

You're coming off as a bit passive aggressive.

Didn't mean to offend you, but I clearly stated that I did not want any ghetto DIY solutions. I'm not the one trying to sell stuff on forums, so not sure why you are so offended by a business idea.

@Chremz, I'm not passivelly agressive or so..we just have diffferent points. I'm here to give You advice or help, not to sell You anything..

Akitio Thunder Two is not meant for GPUs (it was never designed for that) & workaround is rather pour (but it works).

If You want to get rid of cables, there is dirfferent product (sadly out of Your range) called NA211A from Netstor. It will have enough Juice with internal PSU to feed even hungry hi end card & it will be enclosed (however if i would go this route I would still it's case to allow more ariflow).

Best thing of NA211 it has faster interface (hence the price jump), but that might be one of the solutions, as putting Akitio logic boards into a PC case might not be dead easy, ..

as for "Empty case should not cost more.. " well, frankly when You start playing on apple's sandbox a lot of thigns will be overpriced.. - most Thunderbolt devices are targeted to apple audience as well (plus there are other things involved, including supply & demand).

& again, I'm far of being agressive..(it's just weird to read some comments about price, usability or let's say "design" - here is a thing: drivers control fan differently on OSx, that means GPUs run Hot loosing performance & causeing other stability, longevity issues..PSU are big & chunky, because they offer clean power required for stability..not that they look better..) - design is not about looks, but function first of all. However I agree that having a flow in the case is good for cooling..but You might have to do that Yourself..

Man, I think you you should start thinking on your work instead of giving misleading replies to serious questions. Seriously, who would want loose hanging graphics cards and cables laying all over the place in a creative environment? Get a grip on yourself.

certainly not those who buy shiny trashcans, that could not do the work.. =) & then start going around talking how expensive expansion cost.. One or two cables on Your table is nothing when You save money & have a possibility to work. For sure, if looks matters for You more than functionality there are enclosures for 1000$ (for single GPU) & 2000-4000$ (up to four GPUs) - choose what You want

Alternatively, wait a bit. OTOY is going to release headless (or something along those lines) rendering option where Your master do not need to have any GPU, so technically You can build cheap totally enclosed render node & work on Your mac even if it does not have supported GPU.
