does this mean Octane for Poser is dead in the water and we should all now move to another render engine?... or as I mentioned Paul, will there be heaps of rework for the new materials to work in Poser 11....
A fully Poser 11 compatible version of the OctaneRender for Poser plugin will be release before Poser 11 is released.
Do we just stay with Poser 10 and standard firefly materials if we want to use Octane? some direction from Octane and the plugin would be good... should upgrade to P11 or not... should I just forget all this, shuddup and wait and see what happens.... ????
Firefly materials and Superfly materials co-exist - so this will not be a problem for the plugin. The plugin will convert the Firefly version of a material (and ignore the Superfly material).

Is there an intend for the plugin to support the new materials I guess is the obvious question, seems firefly may be on the way out once the materials take over.
If there is no support for the new materials in Poser 11, then there will be no need for Octane as an alternate render engine if new materials are used.

I think you are reading too much into it. Once you use Poser 11 you'll see all is good with the plugin.

Greetings to all. I just played around with the plug-in to render Poser 11. I confirm that the version 2.24.2.62 plugin works seamlessly. As a test I used Victoria 4 and the new figure, Poser 11, Pauline. Point out the disadvantage that if I perform the render with the kernel direct lighting is okay, with the other kernel, must be set in the materials opacity = 0 to the background material poser, otherwise it will be all black. In fact, the new Poser 11, adds over to ground, also the figure basic background. As for the new materials superfly, I could test only a metal base material, type and gold, I can say that the plugin it turns more like a plastic material that metal, but this also occurred with similar materials in the old version. I hope I've been helpful.

The plugin should automatically turn off shadows for the new Poser 11 ground prop to resolve this problem. Is this not happening for you? To check, new scene, open the plugin, Materials tab, click the GROUND mesh tree item, and the Shadow Visibility for that item should be UNTICKED.

I add that nothing changes if I select visibility shadow or not. I see the scene only if I put on the Background opacity = 0

Would it be possible to start with a default andy scene, confirm you are getting the problem on that scene, then save it as pz3 and send it to me pls so I can take a closer look.
Thanks
