Hey there,
I have the same Problem, every time I try to download a Material from Live db, the library and C4D freezes/crashes.
Win 10, GTX 1080 8 Gb, 64GB
Nvidia Driver Version 376.53
Octane PlugIn Version 3.05.3
C4D R18
Would appreciate some help.

which one? Spesific one or all materials? Did you checked from standalone?
this is cache directory for materials. Try to delete and check. Let me know if it works.
c:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\OctaneRender\cache\..

This problem still exists
Example : Materials\Non-Organic\Metal\Starezloto
Plug-in 3.04.5. R2
Standalone - 3.00
I have removed the cache and retried, but it's the same
If user waits it simply crashes the Cinema 4D with a Bug report
If user fiddles with Task manager, it causes a blue screen and crash of the entire system (End Task)
A side note, I experience this problem mostly with mix materials but while old copper works perfectly fine starezloto "always" crashes the system.
My current solution is, stop being lazy and make my own materials.

It´s exactly how Noctivagant described the problem.
Some simple Materials work but especially with textured and mixed materials C4D crashes.
Removing the cache didnt solve the problem.

Have you tried with 3.05.3 or 3.06-test3? No i think!

As I already wrote, I got version 3.05.3 installed.
I´ll try the new test version and let you know if it helps.
But if you seacrh in the forum there are a few other threads about the exact same bug.

For example i've tried "Materials\Non-Organic\Metal\Starezloto" without any issue and didn't see any other material with crash. Please give a spesific information to track.
