Will the RIB format allow animations to be exported and rendered in Octane? Or would there need to be a Daz Studio plugin for that to happen?

Yes! it's actually just a simple 2x32 cube with Normal mapped texture baked on.
Grab
ShaderMap Pro, it's cheap and creates great normal maps for these kinds of projects.
So, you didn't do in DAZ Studio? You purchased a third party app--ShaderMap Pro--to do it?

The image was imported into ShaderMap Pro which produced the Ambient, normal, displacement and specular maps.
These maps were then applied to the cube in DAZ Studio. (They were also baked in DAZ Studio for further testing).
The scene was exported in obj format and imported into Octane for rendering.
