I just think that, as you're now the programmer, you can rewrite the plugin
Karba as made a great job, but it's always hard to integrated the work of another programmer.

If we need to re-render an old scene, we just have to install the previous version of octane plug.
We just have to keep in mind which version was used. I personally always save my work with the octane version number in the name the scene.

GO GO GO !

Thanks for answer Jimstar.
If it is necessary to break compatibiliy (perhaps a converter could be done) best is to do it now...
more we wait more files will be not compatable.
If it is the price to have an evolutive plugin, we have no choice.

I would take a lack of backwards compatibility for a camera mapping feature any day. My entire workflow pretty much depends on it. So yes please, Jim, that would be fantastic.

Also, since we're on the topic of feature requests. The octane viewport allows you to use your Max viewport background image. That's great, but it doesn't work with sequences. Unless I'm doing something wrong. It's just stuck on the first frame (or whatever specific frame I input as a non-sequence). It seems like an odd bug that's easy to fix, but I obviously don't know so maybe it's not.
