Yeah, slowly working on this & some more =) I'll start updating & enter into 3rd round (as latelly been too bussy).
Yeah, same here. You'd think we'd be able to make more time to devote to something possibly worth 10k! hahaha
hehe, for the first go I've spent a day to tweak some lighting tests & submit entry (without having GearVR I didn't want to put more time). Now as I can test thigns out I'd like to play more & learn more about this new media. Honestly I'm thankful for OTOY for possibility to jump into all of this VR movement, 'cos if it wasn't Octane I wouldn't even consider this route..so let's try to have some fun & throw some goodness into 3rd round!

Let's get back on track with this WIP (haven't touched it for a while) - as round 3 has already begun, it's more or less last chance to jump in & have some fun with VR.
Yesterday while listening to
Industry Workshops podcast - where Guys talked about constrains - I took OTOY's logo (just for fun), traced the shape & start playing with it making some sort of control room.
You don't see any walls or any details just yet, 'cos around there should be windows to VR, halodecs or such (not sure yet =) Minimalistic sculptural spaces will be furnished accordingly - only with essentials.
Here's is early sketch from rough premodeling I've dropped into Octane Render. Also added
Evolution armchair designed by Ora Ito for
Zanotta as it seems to fit the the style I'm looking for just perfectly!
more to come..

Thanks, Guys.
Let's move forward. Here is a pair of new sculptural models (based on existing pieces).
Wing sink by LDVC designed for
Falper &
Vesel Bath tub by Splinter
(in real world a pair of those functional sculptures You could have for around 20k$ =)
fast, rough, sketchy premodeling & simple preview =)

two more models under the
same stylistic direction chosen before
I believe there's little to no need introducing chairs (Panton Chair by Verner...Panton =)
Table is loosely based on piece caled Big Bend (by Jeff Miller for Cerruti Baleri)
- rough form, some details missing - just blocking some base shapes & rendering previews.

I feel like the bump on the table is good, but on the chairs its too big. What do you think?

hehe =) I do agree! it was actually first time I've tested procedural texture =DDD so just thrown on these models to break flatness =) but Yeah if to show like 4k renders at great detail than this would clearly need more work - as mentioned that's simple preview =)
