Hair rendering have stopped working sins v2.22.2 - 1.2
The Light passes works great! Only thing is the light is visible as a shaded plane in renders. Same as when a light is turned of. Would be nice if one can set it to be totally gone. The same is in the octane lights in general. when turned off it should be invisible. Now it shows as a shaded plane even if you have set it to indivisible.
Still, Object motion blur only works when movable proxy is checked and Objects with world space modifiers get strange moblure when movable proxy is checked

Best
Daniel

Thanks for this new update

But still one more bug:

Render elements are rendering fine with octane render preview, but at render time a message appear:

I have tested many things (change image name, absolute or relative path) but without success.

Thanks

Bug
Hair with Ornatrix.

Hair thickness driven by a texture doesnt show up with Octane
The image on the right is hair converted to mesh.
Image on the left is with hair primitives.

Hi Jim
Looks like the lighting pass 1-8 is having a little bit less sample than the beatuy?
For example,if I set the samp=300,beauty is clean enough and can't see the noise produced by blackbody emission lights! However when I try to apply different light pass ID to those lights, they produce a little noiser than the beauty(looks like they got less than 300samp)
Does the lighting passes are related to the info max.samples=128??

As I wrote before - if you are reporting the bug, it's better to attach the scene where I can reproduce it.
Could somebody share the scene where the hair stopped working since 1.2?

Jim Hello,

You're right. So, I've prepared a scene regarding my issue.
The problem is Octane doesnot understand Ornatrix hair' Thickness parameter driven by a bitmap.
If you can have a look at the image below you'll understand the issue.
I also added the scene file for you to test it out.

The main problem is using hair primitives, not hair converted to mesh.
I cannot set the thickness by a bitmap.
Whereas it works if I use a similar bitmap to drive the density of the hair primitives.

I've contacted Ephere about the issue.
Marsel Khadiyev responded saying..
Sounds like the issue is coming from the Octane end and not Ornatrix. I have contacted their dev.
Marsel Khadiyev (Software Developer, EPHERE Inc

Here is the render describing the problem.
Ornatrix_Bug.jpg

Next since you've asked.
And yet I do not use hair & Fur but I've prepared the simpliest scene for you to test out.
You add hair&fur modifier to an object render it and it doesnt work.

Both hair&fur and Ornatrix scene is attached below u can find them in the zip..

Best,

apparently the demo doesn't run on max 2014 and 2015, error loading, or wrong versions in the installer
