Had this issue in the Blender plugin, what fixed it for me was removing duplicate vertex & faces, Might be a flip normals thing as Sighman said, hope that help!

Is or has anyone had the issue of the first tab in the settings window being blank? All I see on my screen is a little black arrow and that is it.
I have clicked reset and this caused Carrara to throw up the infamous "An error has occurred" box, and then Carrara crashed to desktop (Nice one Daz Dev's)

I have only seen this if you open the settings window too soon after opening the viewport, before the first image is rendered or if the plugin has not been activated. If you opened it too soon you should just close it and open it again. If the plugin failed to activate then you could very well end up crashing Carrara.

Will try it again and leave it for a bit, it says its activated, was working fine before some updates from Windows, will look into it a bit more
Edit: yes if I leave it for a minute or so before opening the settings, it shows up
