So if I but a real hair plugin it will work with octane
It has been talked about.. search the forum and you should find some conversations about it. I think Ornatrix was supported?
Since I don't have any hair plugins, then I don't know how good the integration is. I do know, that plugins use Octane hair primitives instead of geometry.

I forgot to notice that dynamics live works too. I will test some more and share results.

Another test ... i have to precise that primitive used is a cone primitive, and height segment has to be different from 1 otherwise it cannot be bend by parameters. Here heigth segment is set to 6.

hey guys, are you able to see hairs in octane viewport, or just in render window ?
In max 2015 I remember that I can see hairs in octane viewport, but not anymore... :(

Hey Mist, how can you assign a separate material to teapot?
Mine always gets the same material as the instanced object has.

Hi Suv,

First i create a teapot and a primitive, here a cone. I assign a different material on each object, then pick up the cone in instance node and i open octane viewport. These are the steps i use, nothing else.

I specify that i use 3ds max 2015 extension 1.
