What about material support? Can't you write your own implementation on top of standard hair?
You should be able to define material for Octane hair primitives using Octane sdk? Can you change root and tip colors of Octane hair primitives?
Also can't you access Mental ray material slot under Hair&Fur ? This is where the material is assigned when using Mental ray. Would be nice if it would work with Octane materials too.

If you use "geometry" under Hair rendering options, then maybe this will make the hair geometry accessible in more standard way? No ?

yes if the texture is a grey scale large 1024 pixels is ok
when is 1025 or more pixels it doesn't work.

umm, did you fix the pathname with spaces issue on LiveDB
.. did you.. fix the resolution lock / region render not working thingy .. ?

lock resolution works differently. in this mode you can't zoom, scroll, and do region render. I have to disable region render button in this mode.

- OK thanks for the reply anyway - I see that nobody else cares about those, remember that saying, it's not a bug it's a feature - as long as you report it beforehand
No Hair, both in Max 2014 and 2015 , unlike 2.01 which worked .
