Sorry guys, didn't realize that you are using the plugin. The version of its Octane engine probably doesn't match the version of the slave. We will fix it tomorrow.

Hi all,

I am felling confused with network rendering ...
I have two machines. on one of them, Octane Render 2 is installed with the activated license.
First, I installed Daemon Octane on this machine. I left the default settings.
Then I Octane installed on the second machine.
I also started installing Octane Daemon on this machine; with default settings also.
Finally I launched Octane on the first machine and the on the second, Octane_slave.
Octane_salve asked my User ID and password.
(license ID and password)
But it blocks systematically telling me that the information is false.
...
please help ...

The information provided prior to my purchase of the upgrades said that a single license can support up to 12 slave GPUs, so my understanding was that we didn't have to purchase additional licenses for each slave. I bought the upgrade just for the network rendering so that I can use the GPU on my desktop from my laptop or vice-versa. I definitely don't have the budget to buy additional licenses. Can OTOY please clarify this?
Thank you.

The documentation says to run _install_daemon.bat, which I have done. I rebooted and answered yes to allow an exception for this program through my firewall, so it must be running in background. However, there are also two other programs:
octane_slave.exe
octane_slave_daemon.exe

Under what circumstances are we supposed to run either of these two programs? They are not mentioned in the user guide. When I tried running octane_slave.exe it wouldn't accept my OTOY login ID and password.

On my master machine I am running 3DS Max with the new 2.0 plugin. I have enabled Network Rendering within the dialog in Max, but the Daemon Overview lists no slave GPUs.

Any guidance will be much appreciated. Thank you.
