Hi Slepy8

Its is hard to do all things to work, but it is possible...

In that scene, all the plants are in 3D, grass, flowers, trees, etc...

They are all scattered with forestpack...

I don´t know how much geometry it has but my Titans are at the limit... sometimes they even crash before the render... it is a tricky scene.

I am dreaming about the 800 series... sometime ago i read that they are going to launch the GTX 880 card with 12gb (not like the overpriced and overestimated, titan z, that have 2 GPU´s with 6gb each)...

Regards

Fábio

I am absolutely in love with your lighting, not to mention the the way your trees look in the it! I never seem to be able to get my trees to look like that in my scenes. Would you be willing to share the material settings with the rest of us? Or provide some tips on how you approached setting them up?

Hi Draydin

I´ve used one HDRI map for the entire ilumination... with gamma set to 1.6 to give more hard shadows...

In the trees i used a material for the leaves with the transmission set with the same map, but 2 times more brightness (brightness scale on color correct map)...

Hope i helped...

Cheers

Hi Fabio...beautiful results! I am curious about the memory consumption for a scene like this. Were you reaching the limits of the titan memory?

Thanks,
Vaughan

Hi Vaughan

I´ve reached the Titan VRAM limit some times... i had to create several layers for the furniture, vases, cars, etc... and for each camera had to set the layers accordingly with what needed to be shown.... and i have done a huge cleaning on the maps to stay under 144 textures... i´ve used diffuse maps mostly... i had to skip bump maps, reflection maps, to make the scene work.

These are fabulous shots, absolutely beautiful! All the hard work you put into the vegetation was absolutely worth it. Really brings everything to life.
