This is an ingenious plan to acquaint the artist users with the difficulties of coding.
Once you have struggled with scripting yourself you never complain about the bugs or lack of progress in Octane again.
Of course another way to look at it is that its a subtle message that if you really really want something you can go do it yourself.
We may have the last laugh though because if we succeed they are all redundant.
