The native client (launched form the browser) is working only from Windows right now, but we will get OSX/Linux versions out as soon as we can. Do you have a windows machine you could test from just to help measure performance?

OK - right now the native launcher doesn't support GUID in the URL, but let me see if I can fix that quickly. I will post back here with a link when it's ready.

Hi,
So is the Linux Workstation AMI supposed to work right now or not?
I've launched an instance:
Code: Select all
Instance type
g2.2xlarge
eu-west-1c
Octane Cloud Workstation -Linux--1-AutogenByAWSMP-. view rules
AMI ID
AMI-OTOY-OCTANE-LINUX-1.0r1-d7e50009-88ef-4142-a01c-19d975e53b64-ami-93d188fa.2 (ami-cb7b98bc)
and I'm unable to retrieve the GUID, the ps -edalf looks like this:
Code: Select all
0 S root 2241 2179 1 80 0 - 121812 hrtime 12:44 ? 00:00:09 /tmp/
.bbsuwgxpznjpmvbofbwowlcdzopjbwycxszvawkajtryqumxvkltwqwvgneije name=AWS.54.194.
22.113;port=8090;wsproxy=443;nosleep=1;securelock=0;octane=0;vCLOUDSERVER=1;;vIN
VALIDAUTH=1;vfs=MD7K4X2179,CLOUD\Linux\P2PServer64.vdisk
while the compiz is running I think:
Code: Select all
0 S user 2189 2045 0 80 0 - 309750 poll_s 12:44 ? 00:00:01 compiz
0 S user 2488 2189 0 80 0 - 1100 wait 12:44 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh -c /usr/bin/compiz-decorator
Also, for testing it would be enough to use spot instances, while the AMI forces us to use on-demand, thus paying tens of cents for nothing.
I've rebooted the instance to no avail:
Code: Select all
5 S root 39 2 0 80 0 - 0 devtmp 13:00 ? 00:00:00 [kdevtmpfs]
4 S root 2214 1947 4 80 0 - 89294 hrtime 13:01 ? 00:00:03 /tmp/.Ax8VpQYz6fc2deba/.avdrgfzmffudhsycixaokaacdjphrpyrldktkjfppcvyuvaesctcdvgigypxpq $AWS.54.194.22.113 ;port=8090;wsproxy=443;nosleep=1;securelock=0;octane=0;vCLOUDSERVER=1;
0 S root 2301 2214 1 80 0 - 121812 hrtime 13:01 ? 00:00:01 /tmp/.dtxzavelghcnugkufgsyfpmanylkyhjddjcdggonnrakzkghtyfaotddronryy name=AWS.54.194.22.113;port=8090;wsproxy=443;nosleep=1;securelock=0;octane=0;vCLOUDSERVER=1;;vINVALIDAUTH=1;vfs=MD7K4X2214,CLOUD\Linux\P2PServer64.vdisk
4 S root 2309 2301 8 80 0 - 22746 futex_ 13:01 ? 00:00:06 /tmp/.Ax8VpQYz6fc2d187/.rwtrysgszgewhfjqbaflobrwhwnbctmtshmqbukbaoxjwibxihjyiaurzjsbfh 443
Best regards,
Kris.

Hi Kris - Charliex will follow up with you shortly to help you out and provide direct support. The GUID should show up, and we can provide you with a free test instance on our account while we look into this issue with you.
