It would be awesome if the Rhinogrow script could be modified so that if you tick the "Print OBJ Scatter Matrix" it wrote the transforms to a CSV file (comma rather than space delimited), and did NOT create the Rhino instance (since then you could generate many more transforms).

...another very cool option for the plugin would be the ability to apply the user defined random transformations (displacement, rotation, scale) to a set of
existing points and afterwards write the csv file.
This would be nice since there are many ways to generate point distributions, these could then be easily edited, you would also be able to add custom point positions and then you run the script which adds the user defined randomness and writes the csv file...
but I don't want to appear to greedy

When I get a chance I'll amend the plugin to read space separated transforms (as well as the current comma separated transforms).

If there is not already a python script to do this, it would be easy to write one.

I will update it to do this sometime soon. I think the best way to handle it is to include both the user defined instance matrices (ie. those currently in the document) and the scatter matrices in the same .csv ?

To do this, it'd be easier to add a 'randomize' button to the current toolbar - where you just select some blocks and it handles it for you. I'll add it some time soon.

Hello,
attached another small grass test I did recently, while waiting for the next release...
In this test I used the 1m X 1m grass tiles but made them a matte object, which makes nice transitions between the HDR Background and the objects on the grass ( look at the tree in the foreground)
this one came straight out of octane only cropping and color correction were applied in PS...
best
