I am trying out the demo, and cannot use different scaling values for textures in X and Y. It always uses uniform scaling...
Ok have checked it and you can use a transformation shader to use different scalings.

Hi Face,

Thanks Gescort,
shader compounds aren´t supported, but a crash isn´t a good error message.
Will fix it so you get an error until they are implemented.

Who ask´s where the next update is,
i´m working on a replacement for the preview window.
This takes some time, because Softimage uses the old win32 GUI.
The viewport itself shown the same as the old one.
Without some errors...

Hi Face, i would like to know if possible, the step list of the thing that you are updating in the preview.
Expecially there are some (for me ) ultra important stuff that should have priority.
Two of them are the RENDER REGION,and the second is the correct delete of the object in the render when you remove them from the scene. What you think? Witch is you roadstep of develope? Thank you!!!!!!!!!
PS: octane in XSI is a dream that come true!

One problem with the preview is, i can´t catch the reload button.
When you press, it works when the scene is rendered. Otherwise Softimage hangs till the max samples are reached.
The next problem is the rescaling on big images which doesn´t fit the preview window.
And the speed should be faster because the image can transfer in one piece to the output.
About render region, Octane hasn´t one.
The probleme here, when i use it in the same way as in Lightwave?, you will have no DoF and you can´t use the camera lensshift.
I can do it in another way, then you will haven´t the problems above, but you will only have a speedup, when you render in big resolutions.
One plus you will have in the render region is, that you can save settings and switch between them.
Haven´t heard about a problem when you delete an object, will check it...

Ok, here is an update on which i´m working on.
With a big help of Eric Mootz, i can now use the original preview window.
It downscales now perfect and the artefacts are gone.
Also the Render Region is working.
The disadvantage of this functionality is, the preview info options and preview alpha options are gone.
There is no histogram, no advanced renderinfo and no alphachannel.
Maybe i can implement something similar.
But at next i will resolve some other issues.
Let me know when someone missed this preview infos...

Motion blur isn't implemented yet, is it? Or am I missing something?
