Impressive setup
I'm not in love with pci expanders but I see that they work
An Arion/Live user called Podro uses several Cubix expanders and create amazing renders...
you overclocked your Titans?

Ahhhh yes Marco ^ ^
I was invited by random control (Arion / Fry) in earlier this year to promote Arion on a demonstration of design and packaging in the beginning of the year. Their product also turns to perfection on these cubix;)
No Overcloking!

Visuall,
I asked this before but since we're veering off the subject matter anyway... I see you use Arion. Which do you use most? Which do you prefer? Does it depend on the project? How do you decide?
Would appreciate your thoughts.

Hi,
It depends on the project indeed! I love Arion, that's for sure, but there are some missing features. Octane also still missing functions (Displacement ...) there is a post here
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic. ... ilit=arion that shows the weaknesses and strength of each engine. Arion vs. Octane.
For real Photorealism I prefer Octane, for projects that require less realism (private client) Arion. But it is a personel choice

With all the tests I've done, Octane is slower than eg Arion, but the quality is higher Octane.
But last analysis, it is according to the project

Thanks Visuall, I've seen that post. The comparison between the products is quite old and probably needs updating.
I didn't realise Arion is faster than Octane. Probably that bit of CPU that comes in? But I know Octane's quality... The sun HDRI limitation with Octane bugs me. This feature request is about as old the application itself. I know the Otoy team will get there but when? In the meanwhile productivity suffers.
I am not a Max user though and Arion standalone is reasonably proced. Might give it a spin (when I get a new machine...)
Thanks for all your input. I find both your work and your hardware(!) an inspiration. Keep rendering!

One thing I like about Arion is Remix / lighting passes. It seems to be something like Maxwell's 'multilight' (
http://support.nextlimit.com/display/ma ... Multilight). This is very powerful and I hope Octane inherits this functionality at some point. I might start a topic on this...
