how are you able to render HDRI together with Dalight?
I'm not :/
I first render a daylight image and then a hdr one and mix them together using Gimp playing with the alpha slider.

Wonderful scene Enrico !
Didn't you encounter a problem with transparent shadows for trees leaves ?
I have just found that transparent shadows seem to be broken since Octane 1.11 !

Merci Thierry, j'espère que vous en avez bien profité, bonjour chez toi et à+;)
Thanks Roubal : Yes indeed I have a similar problem with leaks on the wall, I used a blender shrinked wrap mesh (probably like you) and noticed that I had a shadow under the whole surface. Didn't thought to a bug first and finally had to create a mesh covering all my wall to avoid that, but now you point it, it seems to be a bug and I hope this to be solved quickely, very annoying indeed.

Hello Sir! Great work. I really, really love what you do with octane render and Blender.
'All the vegetation is home made and generated with a script I developed in Python for Blender 2.49'
Any chance of getting that magic script from you ?? Please ?
Thanks

Thanks Cadvis,
Well, as said to other who also asked for it, for now I'm trying to sell the trees I'm creating with the script, so if I distribute it, I'll reduce my chances

By the way, the script is not very user friendly and requires some tricks to achieve a result and I don't want to spend time to document it.
I'm trying to port it to blender 2.6 and maybe, one day I'll offer it ...

Hi Enrico, I have understood what happens with transparent shadows : it is not a problem with alpha shadows, but it is due to the fact that the mesh underneath the sticker has a material using the dirt texture : the dark area is dirt under the sticker !
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=30317
A feature allowing the dirt texture generator to ignore faces supporting a transparent alpha would be very usefull to avoid this trouble.
Inverting the normal of the dirt and reducing all parameters of dirt to minimum can help a bit, but the dirt is very few noticeable... often not enough !

Thanks Enricocerica for your reply.
I fully understand that - I had to ask and try

. I'll wait for that day
