Thanks. I suppose this were licensing system error. I disabled account for Windows XP and activated in Windows 7. Yes, it work. But there is another question - why user cannot use 32-bit and 64-bit version like another software, for example Adobe Photoshop CS5 (or CS6)? I have installed and activated both versions.
you can indeed install
and use 32 and 64 bit versions of the plugin. if within the same windows installation. since multiple windows installations on the same machine don't share user account settings, the online activation mechanism from OTOY won't see an activated license which was installad on another windows version on the same machine.
note: using a 32 bit windows for the plugin is definitely not recommended; this limits your system ram to 3.5GB (xp) or 4GB (vista and up) at max, and this amount will be easily maxed out, if running daz studio, and octane/the plugin together plus the amount of ram the system itself needs. this means windows will start swapping ram to the pagefile, and the system will get slow until no longer usable...

Hello,
I purchased the pluging for Octane for Daz studio today.
While the standalone octane pluging installed fine and runs smooth, the daz plugin failed to install. It gave me a log report where some folders were not installed (mostly the ones that needed to go inside the daz folder.)
My program files all all installed in the defauft directory so I don't quite know what went wrong.
The download file I installed came from the 'my download section' in my profile. Maybe it's an out of date installer?
Also I didn't really find any technical support adress to contact so I'm taking my chances here.
Don't really quite know how to proceed if it doesn't install properly ^^;
My comp specs are:
acer notebook on Win8 64 bit
Nvidea Geforce GT 630M 1GB
inter I7- 3632QM CPU @ 2.20Ghz 2.20GHz
16GB ram
Octane 1.1
DazStudio x64 - 4.5.1.56

Same thing happened to me too the first time I tried to install the OctaneRender DAZ plugin. What worked for me was to select the installer, right click and select "Run as Administrator".

Thanks Lindsey, got some help from the Octane people last evening and did a manual install which worked great. Up and running now, still so much to figure out

t_3, did you find a way to solve the installation issue above with XP64sp2? I have that, too, and am wondering if I'll have to also save for a Windows upgrade besides my saving now for your DAZ Studio Octane plugin.

yes, this is solved; the activation manager used a windows api call, which wasn't supported back when xp64 sp2 came out, but it was possible to create a workaround...

I have had the octane plugin for DAZ installed properly and working perfectly since I bought it a few months ago but something has now gone wrong. I don't know why the plugin has stopped working - neither DAZ nor OctaneRender crashed before it stopped working.
Now when I open DAZ the "OctaneRender Main" flashes. I no longer have an OctaneRender Viewport and when I open OR Main the plugin says it is not activated. When I click on "Activation Manager" I get the error message "No Credentials Given" and the activation page appears as well.
I input my plugin license and it says the plugin is "activated" but when I close the activation window the plugin is not activated even after I have closed and reopened DAZ. The license is correct - I double checked. I've tried to install the plugin again but it stops at the license agreement page even with my AV off. I have full admin privileges.
OctaneRender standalone is installed, activated and working perfectly. I just can't get the plugin working any longer. Is there a way to completely clean out all the plugin files and do a fresh install? Or can someone help me get it working somehow? This is such a PITA because I've been using it successfully for months and now for no reason I can find it's stopped working.
