We???? Octane/Otoy Team should find one - not us. Its not the users job, but we allready discussed this!no, it means that we have to do everything to find a qualified developer who is willing to do the job
I read very often, that many users have Problems with ths Plugin which i can not understand. I use and love it. Since i have this plugin i rarely use Octane anymore. The results are amazing and is very fast. Not slower/faster than Octane, if you adjust the settings right....seriously, I don't think Arion could be an alternative compared to Octane.
A little comparison.
Szene Setup and light setting (with custom made HDRI in HDRI Light Studio):
Ocane standalone: 17 min
Octane Max : 9 Minutes (saved as 3DS from Rhino and worked with Max Plugin)
Arion RhinoLive : 4 Minutes
All times counted from starting, setting up szene, applying Materials and hit Render button.
Allways the same szene and i got a little bit better results in Arion with caustics, than with Octane, but this might be a fine tuning in Materials and HDRI Setup! Generally i find Arion handles caustics and specular Materials better than Octane. But thats only my opinion!
Dont get me wrong. I dont like the support of Arion and the way they handle customers, but in my case the Plugin is working really fine and i love the Material Database from Arion, which i find is a big problem in Octane. I really would want an offline material database or at least a cleaned up online Database. Every 3rd Material there is not usable anymore cause they are outdated with the new releases!
