Well, the problem isn't how to get the displacement to mesh...I got that part figured out. That is how I got the wrinkles in the fabric. But just applying a simple fabric bump texture on top of that is anything but simple. :(

OK...Finally got Blender to do a bump map. Would have helped if they would have the bump level called "Bump" instead of "Normal" which is reserved for normal maps in the 3D world. I guess it's I guess it's OK if I decide to change the name "Red" to "Green", too! :))

Anyway, here is the blender result for the same bump texture. There is no banding here and the wrinkles are very smooth (no SubD artifacts).

Can anyone from Otoy chime in on this. It's looking more and more like an Octane thing.

Sure, just send us the scene (OBJ/MTL + texture(s)) of the cushion and we will have a look. Is it a bump-only problem or do you have the same problem with for example the colour channel in a diffuse material.

Cheers,
Marcus

Hi Marcus,

Same problem when it is applied as a diffuse texture.

I tried to attach a zip containing the texture and the ocs file, but the image is too large for upload here or via email. Do you have a server I can upload to, or I could use Megashares?
