certainly, jpg preview I do not have, that is PS opens

did you use it like that with octane ?
octane does'nt yet support spherical HDRI's...

you can download the free tool 'HDRShop' (google for it)
to convert chrome ball spherical HDR maps to latlong/panorama type HDRI maps that octane supports...
