Hello everybody!

My name is Paul Grzelak, and am i from Poland. I am using demo version and going to obtain a license soon.

1. The Owl
I made this model some time ago. It is based on a small (8 cm tall) bronze sculpture, which i have on my desk - it's basically a paperweight.

3. Puma cans
I needed to make a fast render, to visualize label design. And it was fast!

Very nice model and render.
p.s. "Add your full credits on the image as small text on the bottom." - what credits?
It means : add your name and copyright date on your image.

Oh so we can enter old models we did and not have to make entirely new models for this competition?

you can submit everything you like, but you must mention use of models / content you did not make yourself.

Question about the competition. Since the idea of octane in the end will be to be integrated into a pipeline, can i render for the still, after i render the image in octane, aditional passes like zdepth/AO/fresnel etc, object id in my main software (3dsmax for me) for additional control in post-production? Doesn't mean i want to add objects rendered in max, just that i want more control in post, so masks/zdepth etc... are needed.

Are we allowed to render such passes?

Hi, read the first post in this topic by enricocerica, it clearly states what's allowed and what not...

Hello My name is Robert Bostic
My idea for this scene is my interest in old barns i used to draw them when i was younger still do on occasion. Octane has made Rendering fun for me I still have not learned Mental Ray enough to get a descent render out of it been using max for a couple years now Im not patient enough for mental ray it takes forever to render and if its not right you have to wait again lol at least with octane you know pretty much instantly what your render is going to look like easy interface I love it

I modeled the barn and the textured wood is from an old building out in the back yard I used google warehouse for the corn plants and tractor.
Pathtracing was used in the render

Just used photoshop for my name and copyright

Im going to try to model some things for the front of the barn try to get done before the end of june running out of memory on this scene though might have to delete some of the corn (maybe all of it not very realistic) a lot of it isnt showing in the render anyway its using a lot of polys

nice but the corn plants all look identical ...
you could rotate them each a bit.
