What motherboard is that? I've never seen a mother board that supports 7 double width cards. Are they all x16 slots? The best one I can find so far is the Supermicro one that has 4 x16 PCI-E slots. That's my dream machine already... if I can ever afford it.

I know EVGA just brought out a monster motherboard (http://www.evga.com/articles/00537/) but the slots aren't double width I believe. Most likely it is a Tyan, or some other monster server board. I just found a plugin for the scientific computing software they use here that pushes the code to CUDA, so I might be able to swing the powers that be to invest in something like this.

USD 20,000.

TYAN FT72B7015, it has 8x PCIe 2.0 x16 slots.

Hmmmmmm.......... I might be able to convince them of that. Figure that's 3500 in GPU's to start, at least. PSU probably costs another grand+. Mother board another 4+ grand knowing Tyan. And the rest to the casing, CPU and ram. I'm sure one "might" be able to come in a little cheaper, but not without increasing the space, in rack spaces, required.

Yeah, forget the render farm. Imagine the hamster farm to power the thing!

Yoon,

Have you perform the bench scene on this machine?
If yes what are the results?
