I'm going to post a video later today recorded of a session on a system with 2x GTX-480 with the upcoming 2.2 version in multi-gpu.
You should take a look at that, it's a real killer :)

...now that's just going to be cruel. but my system is a day early in delivery so maybe by the weekend i'll be able to test scenes and renders.

Hi there, I've a question regarding network rendering:
I've a PC and a Laptop - Do I need a license for both systems to use Octane via a manager like drqueue or am I good to go with a single license?

Best regards,
Andreas

i'd just put a decent GPU in your desktop and use the desktop, it will be a mini-render farm by itself, if you stick a GTX470 or GTX480 in it.

whew that was a fast reply radiance, thanks! Unfortunately you didn't quite answer my question there. I can't afford a GTX 4xx at the moment so I'd like to combine my laptop and my pc instead. So I'd like to know if it's possible to use Octane in a network with a single license. :)

No, you'd need 2 licenses, one for each machine, and using a network queue software is only good for animations, eg multiple frames distributed over the network...

How can we do network rendering with Octane - is it possible now, or will it be possible with a future release ? ?

you can render with octane on a network with any network animation queue software to have slaves render animation frames.
