So I managed to open the file that I had posted. I don't know in which manner you opened the file in Octane.
If I try to open any obj file directly by clicking on it and saying open with. Octane will start up and then say
file error but still remain open this is including the files you have on your website. I did try opening the file
by having Octane open already, then going to file open but for some odd reason file does not appear where
its located. The only way I managed to open was via the graph editor, by right clicking > add > objects > mesh.
The files on your website I could go the route of file > open and there was no issue. I did try another artlantis
exported file that is more complex via graph editor > add > objects > mesh but it froze up on voxelizing and
windows gave me the following problem event name BEX64. Upon having windows check for a solution
Octane shuts down. Also I can not attach the file for you to test even when compressed as a zip
it is 14.5mb. Every time I try attaching after several minutes the forum page clear everything.

ok. that's a step into the right direction :)

octane opens only its scene files (.ocs) via "open with" or in the main menu "file / open". a mesh must be imported via main menu "node / import wavefront obj mesh" or a nodegraph right click "add / object / mesh". this is how it is used to be (and described in the manual ;))

what may make windows or octane look freezing is limited system ram - if windows starts swapping ram in other words. octane needs A LOT ram for large scenes. depending on the polygon count and number/size of applied textures, you may need 10 or even much more gigabytes of free system ram to open such a mesh without having windows start swapping ram. this is subject to change a bit in one of the next updates of octane, but still a good amount of system ram will be needed because octane needs to hold all geometry and texture data in ram also (not only vram). for example, if you want to import a 6mio tris object, octane will need about 14 megabytes of ram while voxelizing (less if voxelizing has finished)...

Thanks for the reply. Currently I have 16gb ddr3 1600 mhz corsair ram plus the 1024 mb of vram on the gpu.
I would like to send the file to your team to decipher the issue to finalize my decision of purchasing Octane,
I am impressed with the result it's capable of out putting.
