In a thread I do not remember the link, Rad said 2.8 Msamples/s for the bench scene.
But It also said octane fermi version needs some optimization…
EDIT: I found it:

i got 2.8 megasamples/sec on the bench,
but apparently now it's 2.3 megasamples/sec.

this is on a stock asus GTX480

i think this has something to do with the build options of the kernels,
we need to explore these further.

the fermi chips are a completely different architecture, like the difference between a powerpc and an intel CPU.
as such they behave differently and we need to further tweak the compiler options and experiment,
so it will go up in next versions.

And that is the nature of software development.

Congrats Rad for the next release. Good move to roll M GPU
back since I personally do not know many who even have multiple
GPUs.

No, it was not. I had been experiencing a lot of random crashes ( including nodegraphs/changing resolution ). Since I don't have these crashes anymore, I can only assume this was software related and fixed in this release. This version is far more stable for me than any previous ones. Good job ;)

it has always been solid if you use it in a particular way, probably people who use it in a different way and don't follow certain rules do get stability issues,
and this release does have a lot of fixes in this area.
but 'random crashes' really don't exist, those are only hardware or driver related.
